The stock oil cooling system on the FA24 uses a liquid-to-liquid cooler that transfers heat from the oil to the engine coolant. The issue is that coolant is doing double-duty trying to cool the engine and its oil; and when you spend 20 minutes banging off the limiter and sliding sideways, airflow through the radiator is at a minimum, while heat buildup is at a maximum. The solution is a supplemental cooler whose only job is to cool the engine oil.
